J. Alick Ryder, Q.C.
The founder of Ryder Wright, Alick was among the most senior members of the union side labour bar in Ontario until his retirement in 2012. Alick also had extensive experience in regulatory proceedings representing a municipally owned utility serving the public.
His many years of litigation experience involved representing clients before numerous Boards, Tribunals, Professional Colleges, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Alick successfully represented union clients and employees in all areas of labour relations. He was counsel on many ground breaking cases covering grievance remedies, privatization matters, successor rights, unfair labour practices, health and safety complaints, pension funding, judicial reviews in both the private and public sectors and long term disability disputes.
