Ryder Wright Holmes Bryden Nam LLP is a union-side labour law firm dedicated to advocating for greater social, economic and workplace justice on behalf of our clients. The firm has extensive experience in all areas of labour law and an excellent reputation for achieving noteworthy results.
We will be hiring an articling student for the period from August 2025 to June 2026. Articling students at the firm are unionized with CUPE Local 1281.
Our articling student will assist lawyers with all aspects of file preparation for grievance arbitrations, professional regulatory complaints and health inquiries, labour board matters, human rights applications, employment law matters, judicial reviews, and Charter challenge applications.
Ryder Wright has a long tradition of, where possible, hiring articling students to work as associate lawyers. Many of our past lawyers articled with the firm before being called to the bar. We are committed to continuing this tradition if possible.
We are looking for an individual with the following qualities:
- A demonstrated interest in union-side labour law and progressive causes/social justice;
- Academic achievement in the subjects of labour law, administrative law, and other areas related to the firm’s practice;
- Strong research and writing skills;
- Strong ability to efficiently manage competing deadlines and tasks independently;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset.
